It started with a mom determined to create a healthy home for her newborn son. Years later, Cyndi Prince's passion for protecting the environment has allowed all of us to take thoughtful steps to do the same one laundry load at a time. LooHoo Wool Dryer Balls are made in Maine using 100 percent domestic wool and now sold nationwide—from local craft fairs to high-end retailers.

Quest for a Healthy Home Begins

While pregnant, Cyndi Prince learns that the chemicals in dryer sheets are toxic and children are especially susceptible to exposure. And since Cyndi and her husband were about to do A LOT more laundry and cloth diapers, she crafted balls of wool to act as a natural fabric softener.

Company is Launched

After months of trial and error, testing different wools and methods, Cyndi develops one that works and the first wool dryer balls are born. The new mom carves out time to build a company during her baby boy’s naptime and bedtime.

Whole Foods Says Yes!

Whole Foods agrees to carry LooHoo Wool Dryer Balls in Cyndi’s local store. Within a year, 12 more Whole Foods are stocking LooHoos on their shelves. Today, LooHoo works with 32 Whole Foods stores nationwide.

LooHoo Gets a Leg Up

SPANX by Sara Blakely chooses LooHoo as the "Leg Up" promotion winner and featured entrepreneur. LooHoos are also highlighted in its first major publication, InStyle Magazine. Since then, LooHoos has been featured in dozens of popular publications, websites, radio shows, podcasts and TV segments.

Accolades, Keep Them Coming!

LooHoo receives the U.S. Small Business Administration’s Home-Based Business Champion Award for Maine and New England and also is awarded the Eileen Fisher Woman-Owned Business Grant.

A Prestigious Invitation

Eileen Fisher invites LooHoo Wool Dryer Balls to be a part of the retail stores’ Resort 15 gift collection. Since then, Eileen Fisher has carried the LooHoo brand every holiday season.

LooHoo Starts Showing Off

LooHoo makes its debut at trade shows, adding several new wholesale accounts. Cyndi joins fellow vendors at East Coast fairs including Maine’s largest and most distinguished organic event, the Common Ground Country Fair by MOFGA.

All Boxed Up

LooHoo launches its first curated partnership with SoulShine Soap Co., offering beautiful gift boxes that inspire clean living. Over the last several years LooHoo has worked with dozens of eco-conscious brands that share LooHoo’s mission of creating a healthier home and planet.

Fresh New Look

An updated website is unveiled just in time for holiday shopping. Stay tuned for the launch at Loo-Hoo.com.

I have 9 Loohoos sitting in my dryer right now!

With all the allergies in my family, these are a must have. Grateful for how long they last for this family of 7!

Happy Birthday. I love my LooHoo Balls. I bought a new set of sheets for our bed. I washed them, put them in the dryer with a dryer sheet, and were still very ruff. After every wash, and fabric softner, they were still ruff. I washed the sheets and used the LooHoo Balls, and behold. The sheets are soft. Thank you so much.
