As an adult, Thanksgiving has become one of my favorite holidays. There’s no work, no errands, no household chores. The entire day is devoted to something that’s often overlooked—being grateful.
Thanksgiving is the perfect time to slow down and take in our blessings. We all have so many.
At the top of my list is friends and family. I am grateful for my wonderful husband and son, and the beautiful home we have built together. I especially enjoy the weekends when it’s all about “us” rather than life’s daily duties.
Though my extended family is far, I treasure each one of them. I am thankful when we can be close by, like this past Labor Day weekend we spent with my parents, siblings and cousins. What a wonderful time we had together. I’m reminded of their love during these special moments and the memories that are created.
I am also thankful for the time with friends. They are crucial to my fulfillment as a person and to my well-being. We laugh, we cry and we support each other. Sometimes it’s without words and often over a cup of tea or on a long walk.
And finally, I am thankful for being able to work and flourish in my supportive community of MidCoast Maine. I enjoy the work that I do and the LooHoo Wool Dryer Balls community has been integral to our success. What a privilege it is to offer a natural laundry alternative that protects families.
As I prep the turkey and mash the potatoes this year, I look forward to bringing together my loved ones in a nourishing way.
